Workouts

Been doing Taebo this week.

Yesterday was Taebo Cardio Live Bootcamp ( 30 mins) followed by Taebo Elite Bootcamp Abs ( 30 minutes, with weights and some capoeira moves. Challenging!).

Today was Taebo Ultimate Lower Body - great workout, no equipment needed, only 45 minutes with cardio that has a focus on the lower body.

Love my kickboxing!

What do you do when your dh wants you to lose weight?

Now, I'm no bomb shell, I don't exude sex appeal, but I am nearly 40 kg , about 80 lbs, less than I used to be.

The other night, my dh wanted me to do a quiz on why I can't lose weight. He wants me thinner. He is thinner, weighs himself every morning and night, works out hard...

Hell, I'd like to be thinner but I also know I used to have eating disorders. How do I get thinner without being obsessed?

Do I work hard after Easter to lose more weight, Ive been maintaining this last year - can I work hard to lose, say, another 9 kg ( about 18 lbs) ? I lose slowly, about a kg a month - so, in nine months could I be slimmer, look better?

It's up to me. What the heck, maybe I should just go for it.

At least dh would be happier! lol!

It is March!

Thoughts on a March Challenge?

A weekly check in?

I did okay with my strength challenge the first two weeks in February then became unwell - upset stomach, headaches, sore neck..So these last two weeks I've dropped the weights and just done cardio. I felt the weights wouldn't help my neck pain...

So, here I am, thinking about a March fitness challenge.

Maybe consistency. Consistency in continuing my daily workouts. Consistency in eating healthy most of the time.

So, how's your week?

How is the challenge for you guys?

I am great with workouts ( usual) but not-so-great with eating ( also usual, sadly!).

Eating junk. Eating too much. Maybe habit? Maybe eating instead of...instead of what? Not sure ... want to think about it.

Good news? Haven't had any alcohol for 16 days ( no cocktails before dinner! no wine with dinner! sob!) - so that cuts calories and is good for my health....

Looking forward to your check in.

Another Update

So, how's the January Challenge ladies?

Yesterday, I ened up doing an old (very old, very dorky but fun) Jane Fonda workout. It's on VHS - 60 minute aerobics called Lean Routine. Dance and intervals and way out clothes!

Eating was mindful. Happy to say I'd lost a kilogram when I weighed this morning (had put on 3 kgs over the holidays so one down, two to go!).

This morning I did a Taebo workout with one of my sons - Ultimate Taebo. It is a 90 minute workout but I am back at work at Kumon today so didn't feel like I had 90 minutes in which to workout. So, Greg did 60 minutes and I did 71 ( but who is counting, right? lol!).

Off for a walk

Here I am, ready for my morning walk. Today I am walking with a friend. She is meeting me at my house at 7.;30 a.m and then we will walk for an hour, around a nearby lake and up a hill.

Ladies, keep up your walking and working out!

Check in time??

Love the Turbos!

I posted awhile back about some of my workouts feeling too easy.

This last week, I have found a way around this, wth the Turbo Jam kickboxing-cum-dance workouts.

Each workout has one, two or four Turbos - short anaerobic drills, about two minutes long where you go all out and really get your heart rate up. Working out in intevals is a great calorie burner and also increases your aerobic endurance.

So, I've been upping the Turbos - today's Fatblaster workout usually consists of four low impact turbos and four high intensity turbos. I did four low to medium impact and eight high impact - LOVED it!

And I usually find, if I do only Turbo Jam for a week ( TurboKick is the gym version) - well, my upper abs get flatter and some little indents on the sides. I think its all the twisting and standing ab work.

Turbo Jam ( and TurboKick) always have low impact and beginner options so if you are after fun and better abs and good cardio that's my suggestion! lol!

Some interesting articles on health and fitness...

...from the Weight Watchers Australia site.

Oh, and on Sunday I did a Basic Taebo Live Workout ( 30 minutes) with son Jonathon and his friend Meg.

A cool song on this - Shake Your Booty!! Is it KC and the Sunshine Band??

Anyway, I kicked butts - in a nice way, of course. Jonathon and Meg might be younger than me but I wasn't the one who was dead after the workout! lol!

How Is Everyone?

I wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. It has been quiet here lately, I hope I have not been monopolizing the blog!

Anne- How are the exercise tapes coming? Are you still walking the neighborhood?

Rachel- Did you ever get your playlist together? I want to find a cheap way to download music. I wonder.. is $1/song the going rate?

Niamh- How is your son's foot? I was also wondering about the stress eating. You know the lady at the Y recommended I eat 5-6 meals a day at 300 cal each. She said, that won't seem like much but try. It seems to be working very well for me and has actually curbed my stress eating, because I am allowed to eat (mentally) and then I will stop, knowing I can eat again. Just wanted to share that tip.

Night is still the hardest for me b/c I am tired and let my guard down. But also since I am recording at http://www.fitday.com/, I tend to stop so I can record a 'good' day!

Maria- Have you been pool jogging lately? Any more bike rides?

Leonie- What have you been up to- any new videos?

Faith- I miss hearing from you... have you been able to exercise lately?

Would love to hear what is up with everyone when you have a chance.
